Mouthblown, the Red colored Mug was made from two different colored layers of glass. 
The diamond pattern cut was made by cutting through the upper layer of glass, so that the lower -clear- layer of glass is revealed.
This not only creates very beautiful optical effects, but also lets the glass shine with all its purity.
